U.S. hotel results for week ending 27 August

U.S. hotel performance came in lower than the previous week and showed mixed comparisons with 2019, according to STR‘s latest data through 27 August.

21-27 August 2022 (percentage change from the comparable week in 2019*):

  • Occupancy: 65.0% (-2.5%)
  • Average daily rate (ADR): US$147.16 (+15.0%)
  • Revenue per available room (RevPAR): US$95.62 (+12.1%)

Among the Top 25 Markets, Orlando reported the largest occupancy increase over 2019 (+21.1% to 63.8%).

Miami posted the largest ADR gain over 2019 (+32.2% to US$180.17).

The steepest RevPAR deficits were in San Francisco (-39.2% to US$143.37) and New Orleans (23.1% to US$54.57).

*Due to the pandemic impact, STR is measuring recovery against comparable time periods from 2019.
